General public transport can be an issue in India because intra-city transportation is overused and infrastructure is both inferior, and vehicles really are in a lousy state. While the number of transportation options is increasing, many public still prefer to use private vehicles to prioritize their vehicle.
Public transport modes like buses and metro rail are growing rapidly due to the arrival of large numbers of people and are unable to meet the demand. The shuttl is a startup that aims to change the game by offering an on-demand service, similar to the Ola and Uber offers.
How did the Shuttl start?
The shuttl was founded in 2015 by Dipanshu Malviya and Amit Singh. When the two founders worked in Jabong, they wondered how to solve the transportation problem because they were more congested. Like Indians using public transport, there is no rule here – if a person leaves a cloth or a bag on a seat, it means that he or she has reserved space. The concept led to a shuttl app as the founders felt they could combine technology and merger with an app-based product that allows customers to reserve seats on the bus.
How does the Shuttl App work?
Shuttl assesses when travel demands are most and not frequent, this is when people leave their offices and return. Reservations are open for special time slots until all seats are booked. Routes per vehicle are determined by the number of passengers and the number of customers.
